week 15

LAST ENTRY OF THE SEMESTER.
For the last entry, we have too answer some question that have been posted to us. Here are the question and answers....
1. What do you like about blogging?
In my opinion, I think through blogging we can express our thoughts and also help us to reflect on what we have learnt throughout the day. Its very fun and interesting too.
2. What you do not like about blogging?

I feel blogging is irritating sometime because i takes too much time to complete a task.

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How?
Blogging helped me a lot in improving myself in many skills. In every entry posted, I need to think thoroughly on what to be expressed regarding that particular topic and I also need to make it understandable in the most interesting way by adding photos and videos. Thus, I have applied several technology skills especially in adding photos or videos in my post and upload them to be published.

4. What do you like about this course?
Basically i learn more things to do with technology and hope could use it during my teaching session in future.
5. What you do not like about this course?
To tell the truth, the module thingy is simply nuts. In my opinion, i dun gain anything by doin the modules. It only makes uus to waste lots and lots of money and energy.

6. What have you learnt from this course?
I had learnt a lot from this course.I have become more familiar with Adobe Photoshop CS3, FxFoto, Audacity, etc. I found all these software are very useful and it would be a lost for me if I was not exposed to them. Now I can improvise my lesson plan by adding up technology in it.

7. What have you learned from this course that you did not expect to?
I really never think of creating an E-book and a video on my own. In E-book, I am surprised that I am exposed to this kind of knowledge, and I finally manage to master the skill in making it. For the video made up by me, I was thinking that kind of knowledge will only be learned if I take computer science or other subject related to computing skills.

8. What have you expected but do not learn from this course?
I have learnt almost everything about creating resources.
9. Comments regarding modules:
1) Internet and computing skills
a. What do you like about this module?
We are introduced to all kinds of internet websites such as 4shared.com, gif animated cartoons etc. It widens my perspectives which make me realize that there are actually a lot of websites that we can exploit to create teaching aids.
b. What do you not like about this module?
There are so many softwares in this module. As a result, some softwares really took a lot of time to be installed which really makes me to be late in doing this module. However, thank God I able to finish it!
c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
We can search for different websites that can be incorporate into the lesson plan and realised there are so many useful softwares available.
d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
The resources that can be used to suit our topic or learning objectives are very limited, thus, caused difficulties when we need the most suitable one from the internet.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module
We can use different softwares to download a video. For example, we can use either moyea downloader or realplayer to download the video from Youtube. Personally, I like Real Player because it easy easy and quick to download too.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
We can use the skills to search for the things that we want easily as we were introduced to a variety of softwares as well as websites.

2. Photo Editing

a. What do you like about this module?
In this module, I can learn how to edit pictures by making it nicer and different form before.

b. What do you not like about this module?
I think, it is fine for me. I just like it.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
I like the tasks that allow me to explore the use of edited pictures to be applied in the classroom.



d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
I think it is fine for me. This module really brings me a lot of new ideas.


e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
The specific skills that I learn through this module are editing the pictures like cropping it, change the background, and change the size of the picture and so on.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
The skill learnt can help me to try some new approaches to pupils. The visual learners surely will like it.

3. Audio Editing Skill
i)What do you like about this module?
This module had taught me many important skills on editing audio files for example how to make minus one.

ii) What do you not like about this module?
There is too much to be done and very limited time given. Moreover, reproducing this module do cost a lot. We had paid for the photocopy,and we still have to reprint it again.

iii)What do you like about the tasks given for this module?
Well the tasks give me an opportunity to practice the skills that I had learnt from the module.

iv) What do you not like about the tasks given for this module.
I believed that proper guidelines should be given because Mdm Foziah tend to reject our work.

v)What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
I had learnt how remove background noise, how to crop audio, how to make minus one and how to add in background music into an audio clip.

vi) How the skills learnt in this module can help in making and choosing of teaching aids for ELT classroom?
Well I had learnt how to create my own audio files for my classroom. For example, I can make an audio book and make it more interesting by adding in sound effects and many more. These can enhance the teaching and learning process.


4.Video Editing Skill

i)What do you like about this module?
This module had taught me many important skills on editing video files for example how to create my own video using windows movie maker.

ii) What do you not like about this module?
There is too much to be done and very limited time given. Moreover, reproducing this module do cost a lot. We had paid for the photocopy,and we still have to reprint it again.

iii)What do you like about the tasks given for this module?
Well the tasks give me an opportunity to practice the skills that I had learnt from the module.

iv) What do you not like about the tasks given for this module.
I believed that proper guidelines should be given because Mdm Foziah tend to reject our work.

v)What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
I had learnt how to crop videos, how to many my own videos and many more.

vi) How the skills learnt in this module can help in making and choosing of teaching aids for ELT classroom?
Well I had learnt how to create my own video for my classroom. For example, I can make a video about food by using windows movie maker. By creating my own video, the video will be more interesting, meaningful and most importantly suitable for Malaysian' pupils.

5. Software for ELT

i)What do you like about this module?
This module had taught me many important skills on creating poster, banners and many more.

ii) What do you not like about this module?
There is too much to be done and very limited time given. Moreover, reproducing this module do cost a lot. We had paid for the photocopy,and we still have to reprint it again.


iii)What do you like about the tasks given for this module?
Well the tasks give me an opportunity to practice the skills that I had learnt from the module.

iv) What do you not like about the tasks given for this module.
I believed that proper guidelines should be given because Mdm Foziah tend to reject our work.

v)What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
I had learnt how make my own poster, banner and many more.

vi) How the skills learnt in this module can help in making and choosing of teaching aids for ELT classroom?
Well I can create poster and banners based on the topic of the day. For example I can create my own poster on fruits. With this I would not have to waste my time to search for the appropriate poster on the internet.

10)If you can change anything about this course, state what is and elaborate.
Well lecturer should teach the skills instead of just throwing us the modules. Lecturer should at least teach the very basis of the software. For example, I was struggling to find the button and icons in Adobe Photoshop. Next, financial aids should be given because we spent many money in buying the papers and ink.

week 14

Week 14.
It seems that the time flow so quickly and by the time goes by, we were already in week fourteen. Integrating technology into classroom instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class. Effective technology integration must happen across the curriculum which deepen and enhance the learning process. In addition, it must support four key components of learning which is active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts. Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is routine and transparent and when technology supports curricular goals.
For this week, we were informed that, we will be seating for a test that carry 40% of the overall mark. There will be 4 essay questions and we need to answer all of the question. Puan Foziah did tell us to read in the Susan Halliwell's book and focused on the video editing and its application in classroom. Its really helped us to study and I would like to thank her for her tips. To be able to answer it, I need to prepare myself thoroughly because, there are lots to be covered.
I hope i could do the best for my test so that i could show my understanding to the lesson that have been taught by my lecturer. Till then, bye from me...hope to see you all again...chaoz....

week 13

Welcome to week 13!Gosh..It is time for us to submit our assignments. I had a tough time to complete my assignments yet I have learnt a lot. Although, I have not become a professional photo and video editor still I am so happy that I have better knowledge about it compare to others out there who does not has any understanding about it. Well, practice make perfect as I might be a professional in editing photos and videos in future. Furthermore, there were no lesson today; we were patching up last bit of our assignments. Pn Fauziah was walking around helping and giving opinion on our work.
It is almost an end to the entire lesson. However, there is one more last week to go. YAHOO!! I hope I could pertain whatever I have learnt as my teaching aids in my future.

week 12

We are in the 12th week of resources class now. Time is running so fast! Pn Fauziah has introduced to us something new which is E-book. I have heard about it though I have no idea on how an E-book looks like. It sounded pretty interesting when Pn Fauziah briefly explained about E-book. Furthermore, she also showed us an example of E-book. An E-book refers to electronic books which can only be read through electronic devices. In addition, she mentioned to us that E-book is vital to use in class and it ought to consists of :
 Storyline that shows the conflict, climax and resolution
 Setting
 Theme
 Characterization
 Sound effects
 Clear and quality pictures

Therefore, I have trust that E-book can be tempting to children in primary level. I and my partner, Chin Hui Chiat have decided to create an E-book based on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt love story. We have applied our knowledge that we gained in our previous lesson which is photo editing into this assignment.
Last but not least, I hope that we could make a good teamwork to provide a fine job. I am very thankful to Pn Fauziah for giving us trendy of beneficial inputs. Alright, that is all for this week. Adiozz..

week 11

Welcome to week 11. This week is about photo editing. What is photo editing? Actually photo editing is about how you edit a original picture to be more attractive and nice. For todays lesson, Mdm Foziah was briefing us about the picture editing and let us to see some edited pictures that created by her own friend. It was quite interesting and nice to look at those pictures.
For our task today, we have to take an original photo of our own and edit it using photo bucket. Photobucket is an image hosting, video hosting, slideshow creation and photo sharing website. Photobucket is usually used for personal photographic albums, remote storage of avatars displayed on internet forums, and storage of videos. Users may keep their albums private, allow password-protected guest access, or open them to the public. These are the photos that were edited by my own...look at it and have fun.....

week 10

It is week 10,still in progress with Module 2. Many of us ,did not complete the task. Thank god! Pn Foziah gave us extra time for us to complete our module. I am happy because I am better in editing photos now. Moreover, now I am able to create posters, birthday cards, invitation cards and many more. A new talent in me! I am pleased because without Pn Fauziah I would not have the opportunity to learn about this functional software. Thank you, Pn Foziah! Nevertheless, I believe that photo editing skill would be definitely helpful for me to create a proper teaching aid. Thus we can see that, lots of work required yet I trust that it is worth to do. week 9

Before I start off with this week’s reflection, I would wish all my Muslim friends and Pn Foziah ‘Eid Mubarak’ and expect all of you had a great day. Finally, I have done with my module 3, lesson plans and Teaching Aids yet this is not the end. It is time for our Module 2. YES, another thick module! However I feel that Module 2 would be more exciting than the previous module as it is about photo editing. This Module includes software such as Photobucket, Photoscape, Microsoft paint, ACD see, Adobe Photoshop CS3 and many. The mission of this module is to help us enhance our knowledge in photo editing which comprise Adjust color, Crop picture, Filter image, Insert frame, Adjust saturation and so on. Basically, it helps to provide an excellent quality pictures. Who doesn’t want to look appealing in pictures? Everyone wishes to look good. I could also apply this in my personal life. I end this for now because I am excited to explore and start my Module 2 task. Have a good day!
